Privacy policy

This site is run by Jack Davenport, a freelance web & app developer based in the UK. It collects as little personal data as possible — essentially only what you choose to send me. This page explains what that is, how it is used, and the rights you have over it.

What I collect

The only personal data this site collects is what you submit through the contact form: your name, email address and message. I use it solely to read and reply to your enquiry. There are no accounts and no marketing lists.

Who processes it

  • Web3Forms delivers the contact form to my inbox. Your submission passes through their service on the way to me. See the Web3Forms privacy policy for details of their handling.
  • Vercel hosts the site. Like any web host, its servers process standard request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to serve pages and for security.
  • Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces. Your browser requests them from Google, which means your IP address is visible to Google as part of that request.
  • Google Analytics measures how the site is used. Standard analytics data about your visit is processed by Google on my behalf — see “Cookies & analytics” below.

I do not sell your data, and I do not share it with anyone beyond what is needed to reply to you.

Cookies & analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how it is used — such as which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors are located. When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice: analytics cookies are only set, and usage data is only shared with Google, if you accept. If you decline, no analytics cookies are stored on your device. Google Analytics 4 does not store your full IP address, and the data is used only for aggregate insight — never to identify you personally, and never for advertising. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the banner back. See Google's privacy policy for details of their handling.

How long it is kept

I keep enquiry emails only for as long as they are useful — to hold a conversation, deliver a project, or keep a record of work. You can ask me to delete your message at any time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me to access, correct or delete the personal data I hold about you, or to stop using it. To make a request, or if you have any questions about this policy, email me at jd@jackdavenport.co.uk.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it. For anything you are unsure about, just get in touch.
